ABOUT ME

​

If you would have told me as a child that I would grow up and become a pastor, I would have said, "Are you kidding me?" When I was a child, I dreamed of being a teacher and by the time I was in high school, my dream was to be an actress.

 

​​​​My dad said, “Donna, get practical”.  I trusted my dad and in 1975, I switched majors from music and acting to nursing.  Big jump for sure! 

​

Enter ​​​​​​Step two…in 1992, after several years in nursing, I felt a call to ministry and received my Master of Divinity degree with an emphasis in teaching and spiritual counseling centered around the teachings of Jesus who taught us that the “kingdom of heaven is within you” (Luke 17:21). We are born with this divine spark and over a lifetime we deepen that connection to the Creator.

 

And when we do, our relationships also deepen.​​​​​

For me this journey has been full of many twists and turns. Some good, some bad.  I have been abundantly blessed in so many ways

• Three grown, healthy, happy children and five grand-children. 

• Abundant health and lots of energy

• An amazing family of three grown children and five grandchildren.

• And see the challenges of life as an invitation to trust more.

With over 25 years in counseling ministry where I performed dozens of weddings in the churches, Vows and Promises is a platform to educate and help couples outside of the church to create beautiful wedding ceremonies, stronger marriages and families.

​​​The language I speak is to listen, laugh and support you on your journey where two become one….
